The bones are the structure of our body and need attention, especially when we get older. A very common condition that takes, especially in women is Osteopenia or Osteoporosis, that is a condition that leaves our bones weaker. An important point to avoid the weakening of bones is about the daily calcium intake, and this is a discussion nowadays because we have been told in the last year that we need to take a good portion of milk to have our daily calcium consumption adequate.

But this is not correct, we already know that the calcium that we get from milk doesn’t have enough magnesium.

Magnesium is an important mineral that helps calcium to absorb in our bones because magnesium leaves the ph blood alkaline, and that is an important point for the correct calcium metabolism in the bones. The problem of having too much milk is that calcium can go to the wrong place because milk leaves the ph blood more acidic, and this is a problem because the calcium can be deposited in the joints, arteries, and veins. The right calcium we can have is from vegetables, especially broccoli and dark leafy greens, this kind of vegetables have a good portion of calcium with magnesium, that is, it has a good relationship between these two minerals which act in synergy. This causes the calcium to go directly into our bones. This can be prevention to cardiovascular diseases because that calcium that reaches the arteries and veins can cause calcification and consequently, the formation of the atheroma plaque.

To avoid bone diseases we need to have a lot to vegetables a day, this is an important point, but also need to avoid food that leaves the ph blood acid, like sugar, refined flours, a lot of salt, a ton of coffee, soda and ultra-processed food.
